Alpha products incorporate leading edge technology, such
as the dCS Ring DAC used in our Alpha 9 CD player and the
Alpha 10 Digital Radio Tuner, the world's first digital radio
tuner for the home. The CD players are designed around a common
platform, which means you can easily upgrade to the state-of-the-art
performance of the 9 CD.
| In the amplifier market, Arcam has popularised
the concept of bi-amping (adding a power amplifier alongside
an integrated amplifier to give you an even more controlled
and detailed sound). By adding an extra module, the Alpha
10 Amplifier can be upgraded into a five channel Home
Cinema system, or the heart of a multi-room distribution.
This concept has now been carried on to the FMJ series,
maintaining our tradition of upgradeable hi-fi.

The Alpha range is extremely successful with over 100,000 units
sold worldwide since its launch in 1996. Collectively, Alpha
products have received so many awards and so many wonderful
reviews from hi-fi magazines around the world that we have lost
count! However, highlights include winning the What Hi-Fi? CD
player Product of the Year in 1996 and 1997 with the Alpha 7
CD and again in 1999 and 2000 with the Alpha 7SE CD.
