The Arcam approach to home cinema is music first and foremost. The majority of home cinema amplifiers disappoint when reproducing music, although they can impress when playing blockbuster movie soundtracks. The experience of high quality home cinema is thrilling indeed, but we believe there is a limit to the time you can spend watching movies without overloading the senses.
To have both home cinema and top quality hi-fi sound in the same system used to be almost impossible, but Arcam changed all that with the introduction of our award winning Xeta One home cinema amplifier and Xeta 2 home cinema processor. They have been followed by the Alpha AV50 amplifier and the Alpha 10 DAVE home cinema module.

The DAVE module transforms the Alpha 10
integrated amplifier into a state-of-the-art AV system
when partnered with the three channel version of the 10P
power amplifier, providing a total of 5 x 100 watt high
fidelity amplification channels. It decodes Dolby digital
and DTS as well as Dolby Pro logic soundtracks. The AV50
is a full function Dolby Pro logic integrated amplifier
and incorporates a six channel input which allows it to
be used with the growing number of DVD players equipped
with internal Dolby Digital decoding.
Every model can switch between four composite video sources, whilst the audio amplification is clean and powerful enough to do justice to all types of movie action. And, if you live in a large home, you can upgrade any of | our A/V units with external power amplifiers to get as much sound level as you like.
All Arcam A/V amplifiers incorporate the latest Dolby Pro Logic four channel decoding circuitry, to give you astonishingly realistic cinema surround sound. A powerful centre channel amplifier ensures you hear crystal-clear dialogue which is always located close to the viewing screen, irrespective of where you are seated. The surround channel incorporates a variable time delay to optimise different room layouts and uses independent amplifiers to drive each rear speaker.
But that's not all. Our A/V amplifiers have unique bypass circuitry that ensures they deliver beautiful stereo music from CD, radio or tape with all the subtle nuances of the recording intact.
If you can operate a conventional hi-fi amplifier, you can operate our home cinema equipment, because all Arcam models lack unnecessary sound degrading gimmicks. For setting up, the Alpha 10 DAVE and Xeta 2 have on-screen programming, whilst the Alpha AV50 has a backlit LCD display. The Xeta 2 and AV50 are provided with a simple remote control, whilst DAVE comes with the Arcam CR9000 learning remote.
All in all, Arcam's A/V amplifiers offer an excellent opportunity to get incredible sound quality and live action excitement from virtually any recording - and all without ever having to leave the comfort of your own home.
