Solo movie FAQ
This is correct; you are not always allowed to stop a disc. However, using the eject button or press and hold STOP/EJECT from the front panel should allow you to eject the disc.

We cannot change this as the button allows you to stop the playback of the iPod and the "EJECT" also has a function when the iPod is connected (i.e. disconnects the iPod).

The Solo does not have an in-built Phono Stage for turntable connection. To connect a turntable you will need an In-Line Phono Module that is able to convert the phono output signal to a line level for use by the Solo. You will also need to have a spare source input on the Solo to connect the module to.
Please consult your Arcam dealer for a suitable In-Line Module. These typically start at £30 ($50).

No. Zone 2 follows Zone 1 for source selection, thus the source selected in Zone 1 will also be present in Zone 2. However, each zone has its own volume level conrol.
The Zone 2 volume level can be fixed at any chosen level and is not simply fixed.
If the Solo is put into Standby then the volume level is as set. As a side note, if Zone 2 is set to "Record Out" you should not connect the Zone 2 output directly to a power amplifier.

This can also be performed from the CR100 Remote Control as follows:

The Solo requires some additional items to achieve Zone 2 operation:
- A remote pick-up device(e.g. a Xantech Dinky Link with dedicated power supply) located within Zone 2 and wired back to the "Zone 2 Remote In" of the Solo Movie (see below for wiring details)
- A power amplifier such as the Arcam P35 to power the speakers in Zone 2
- A pair of speaker located in Zone 2
Solo has the ability to provide a +12v trigger for control of ancillary devices such as a power amplifier in Zone 2. The +12v control is active as long as the Solo is not Off or in Standby mode. Xantech provide specific power supplies for there products. See www.xantech.com for full details.

The Arcam Solo 5.1 has a rear panel set of discrete 5.1 pre outs which can be connected to Arcam power amplifiers (such as the P35) for Bi-Amping. However, if you are not using rear channels in your system it is also possible to internally re-route the rear speaker power amplifiers for Bi-Amping the front channels. This is performed by a simple adjustment within the software (See Handbook page 19 - Powered Surround Configuration) for details.
